Nicely said.

Bob Cesca dissects the Helen Thomas question.

Is it any wonder lil Shrubbie snubbed her questions all these years?

You go, girl.

Methinks she doth protest too much.

Dunno.  This sounds mighty fishy to me.

Even after all we’ve done to them…

They’re still willing to help us.
The Rapid City Journal

Guns are for girly-men.

If we can not trust a freeman with his right to keep and bear arms, then how can we trust him with the right to vote. Surely the right of a freeman to vote has a much greater effect on our collective lives than does any individual’s firearm. If one argues that the effect of any one freeman’s vote is minimal, then why allow it in the first place? To be armed is to secure one’s right to representation. -Thomas Mincher

That’s the quote on this page right now. I can’t let it go by without saying bollox. Thomas Mincher is a dick. That quote doesnt even make any sense!

To be armed is to secure one’s right to representation, eh? How about this then: let’s give every single black voter in this country a gun next time the polls open. That should give them a fighting chance against the law enforcement and other official (and unofficial) entities that seem determined, even in the twenty first century, to keep some people from having a voice in this country because of the colour of their skin, especially in the “new, enlightened south” we keep hearing about.

After all, they’ll only be securing their right to representation.

NO! Not again!

And just as I was going to start work on my David Hasselhoff online shrine.

Well, it looks like I’m going to have to change the Sithly homepage…I think Pamela Bach is probably psychotic…she married David Hasselhoff, after all…but I dunno. If first a judge refused to sign a restraining order against him, and then two weeks later another judge does sign the same restraining order, maybe this isn’t just some kind of…thing. Maybe he’s a wife beating bastard. I just can’t support that. Until I find out for sure, though, I can’t keep my memorial to the glory that is The Hasselhoff going the way it is now.

Segzy Speedos, disgusting, pasty flesh, brillo hairdo, and Colgate smile notwithstanding, I simply can’t support wife beating for any reason! Why did she have to do this and leave me with such agonizing uncertainty?! Couldn’t she have just cut off his balls while he slept and removed all doubt? What an inconsiderate bitch!

Oh well. I’ll have to keep my fingers crossed. After all, it’s pretty easy for a psychotic woman to get a restraining order against an innocent husband. Then again, men do tend to be wife beating bastards more often than women tend to be husband-beating bastards, so I’ve gotta give her the benefit of the doubt here. She has shown a previous measure of insanity for wanting to get close enough to The Hasselhoff to have kids with him, which is admittedly intensely creepy, but that doesnt necessarily mean she’s stone crazy, either.

Maybe he’s OJ in training. It’s not out of the question. I mean…look at the guy. He’s totally serial killer material. Nobody would ever suspect him. He looks like a really hairy, pasty Duracell guy. Plus that German thing he’s got going? I bet he’s secretly fruitbat out of his mind insane. There is just no end to the mystery that is David Hasselhoff!

Say it ain’t so, Dave! Don’t break my heart!

David Hasselhoff denies spousal abuse

Okay, one more post before work…

I can’t wait to see what these guys are up to now. This sounds like it’s gonna be great.

Please, please, please dont let it be Martin Lawrence or Chris Rock.

Clooney update

I linked, in a previous post a few down from this one, to a blog entry on the Huffington Post purportedly made by George Clooney. I even quoted from it. (The post has since been removed; you can still see it here, though.)

The next day, as some of you might know, it was revealed that George Clooney was not actually the author of that post; turns out that Arianna Huffington, for some reason, decided to compose the post from random statements made over a period of time by George Clooney and then put it up on her website without actually letting anyone know it was her doing it, and not George himself.

I suppose you can take the girl out of the GOP, but you can’t take the GOP out of the girl, eh?She made a weak ass self-defense gambit, did not apologize, and has since acted as though she did nothing wrong. George Clooney tells it otherwise, and was pissed about it. Her readers also did their share of finger waggling; the great majority of them were vocal about how unethical her actions were.

I didnt write about it right away ’cause I wanted to link to all the sources and I’ve been too lazy, but I just wanted to post about it now before it gets completely away from me. I’ll edit this post later to round it out and provide said links.

Arianna, you slut. The Huffington Post sucks now. It has for a long time, but this last little stunt just leaves you on par with Matt Drudge. What a waste.

Edit: Added links to the bits above, and I’ll add this, too: I’ve been busy and not following up on everything, so it was good to see that Arianna Huffington apologized for misleading her readers.

It shouldnt have taken her four days, but eh, she’s a politician. I’m glad she did it. Hopefully she means it when she says it won’t happen again. I tend to lean toward believing her. I still think the Huffington Post kind of sucks, but to be fair, that’s more because of the folks who comment there than anything. The articles and blogs can be pretty interesting, and I really like the idea she’s got going with the Huffington Post.

But if we ever hope to achieve anything, we need to be better and scrupulous about it. Let’s hope this lesson learned sticks. We dont have time to deal with stuff like this when we’re faced with a Democratic party that seems to be comprised entirely of zombies.

Oh, and I’m really annoyed with Hillary right now. Every once in a while she does something really stupid, like support the war in Iraq and stand against gay marriage, and while the Family Entertainment Protection Act is small beans compared to those two issues, it’s still pretty irritating that once in a while she seems to turn into a Republican. Now she’s brought the gaming vendetta back to the fore again recently. Snap out of it, Hillary! Instead of censorship, how about advocating a little parental responsibility, instead? Don’t pull a Tipper. Youre better than that.

Too Troo.

The movie, She’s The Man?

One of the worst pieces of shit to ever be immortalized on film.  If someone asks you to go see it with them, treat it as though theyre assaulting you, and act accordingly.

This movie sucks.

This is unbelievably cool.

Seriously.  In every possible way.  I applaud the efforts that certain universities have started making very recently to try to get folks who are not extremely well off through their doors.  This is a ray of light in a dark, dismal sky.

“Trapped in the Closet”

I’m still bitter about Isaac Hayes turning out to be such a flaming hypocrite. I was talking to a good friend about it yesterday…he hadn’t heard…and a few minute later he sent me this link to the South Park episode in question. (Thanks Loony baybee!)

Though Isaac Hayes hasn’t actually come out and said that he left the show over the Scientology episode, it doesnt take a genius to realize what the real deal is. He’s getting some pretty bad press over this, and you know what? He deserves every minute of it.

It’s one thing to take offense at someone if they make an offensive joke about your religion…even though you have no right to expect them to or demand that they remain silent, however offensive their words are…but it’s entirely another thing to spend a full decade of your life making fun of everyone else under the sun, and then decide you’re offended when your turn comes. That’s nothing short of fucked up, and I can’t respect someone like that. As I said yesterday, it makes me sad.

So after work today I watched the cartoon again and did some more reading on Scientology…these people are crazy, you know that? While I was reading, I found out something I didnt know, although how I could have missed it is beyond me: Tom Cruise actually did sue them in England, and won. Theyve never aired the South Park Scientology episode there.

So, I decided that although I believe that Matt Stone and Trey Parker deserve every penny they earn through their art, I still think that making this episode available via the Internets is for a good cause in this case. In fact, it’s for the best cause. If it weren’t for freedom of speech, we wouldnt have South Park at all. They wouldnt have a show, or a livelihood.

And given the fact that Tom Cruise is a citizen of this country, which grants him a life full of luxuries beyond that the vast majority of the world’s population will ever know, is a citizen of the country that is supposed to be the land of the free and the home of the brave, of which he has declared himself a proud member, given the fact that this same country grants him the freedom and shows him the tolerance to not only get away with shitty movies and still make an incredible amount of money but to join a cult and then get nasty about it on talk shows with other people, and generally just act like a mentally deficient tool in public, he decides that it is well within his right to sue to censor artistic expression and individual opinion in another country just because he deems it offensive.

Tom Cruise is a tool. A crazy, deluded fool who belongs to a dangerous cult whose only purpose is to make money and who will stop at nothing to protect and defend the worldwide scam theyre running on the most stupid segments of our population. The Cult of Scientology should be stopped. But in the meantime, the people of England should get to see this episode. Just because.

So, my apologies to Matt and Trey. I hope you’ll understand, but some things are more important than royalties.

Since my bandwidth is nowhere near meaty enough to host this file myself, I’m providing links to some other web sources here. If those links break and the file is no longer available, email me. I’ll host it myself. I have it downloaded.

Enjoy. :)
