You’ll notice in the upper right hand corner of the page, there is a little box in which a quote resides. Today, the following gem graces my humble little profanity-laced blog:
The glory of Christianity is to conquer by forgiveness.
-William Blake (1757-1827), British poet, artist
Now, while I think William Blake was kind of spiffy, as far as poets go, I snorted iced tea out of my nose when I read this quote. I can’t think anything more inaccurate to say about Christianity. The only way anyone could make that quote in any way true would be to append “of baby raping pedo priests” after the word “forgiveness.”
Yesterday there was a quote by goddamn Barbara Bush, and today this Christianity garbage.
After work, I’m going to go to the Quote World site to see if I can do any customizing on the quotes that are shown. If not, it’ll be time to find another quote source or just set up a quote thinger of my own.
In the meantime, please note this disclaimer:
The quotes in the quote box are not necessarily endorsed by the management.
I would say that funnier but it’s ten to 6:00 in the morning and I’m pissed off that I’m not sleeping and about to start work. Somebody get me a goddamn toasted corn muffin as big as my head, like the ones I used to get before school or work in Manhattan every day. They dont have those here.
How the fuck is anyone in this country who lives outside of New York fat? There’s nothing to eat!
(Mysteriously, I manage to maintain my own weight of approximately three quarters of a ton quite well, though, even without corn muffins, hot dogs, pastrami, or any of the other real food you can get back home. Heh.)
